As difficult as it is, taking responsibility for change, even when one's spirits are at rock-bottom, permits positive results. And making that difficult first call to a therapist clearly reflects willingness to take on the challenges inherent in making personal change. If you are motivated to do the work required then you will be greatly rewarded for your efforts.
On a personal level, I am married and the father of four children who are now young adults. My professional experience is broad, spanning more than 30 years of clinical practice. My background also includes extensive work in the training of other clinicians and doctoral students, as well as in the maintenance of departmental leadership in a major medical center, and in the maintenance of executive and advisory positions for several healthcare organizations.
But clinical practice has been my passion and the primary focus of my professional career. Over the years, I have worked with couples, families, indivdual adults, adolescents, and children who exhibit a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal problems. In an attempt to provide coordinated care, I frequently work collaboratively with other professionals, especially psychiatrists and primary care physicians. It is my intent to provide my clients with the best available care.
In addition to the provision of psychotherapeutic services, I am a certified COGMED trainer. This program has been empirically demonstrated to enhance working memory for people engaged in cognitively demanding work requiring intense concentration, as well as for individuals who have attentional and/or working memory deficits (e.g. those with ADD, mild brain injury, and age-related memory loss).
If you are looking for support and guidance through a challenging situation or you are just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
